The Background of the StayAway
The idea for the StayAway blanket came to me on an unusually warm March day during quarantine when I was stressed about how I could possibly enjoy the beach in a few months.
For as long as I can remember, I would always set up my beach chair far away from the crowds to enjoy some peace and quiet. Despite my efforts, the hordes would come along and set their chairs up right on top of me, even with a ton of empty space around us. For whatever reason, they were determined to be as close as possible.
After a bunch of failed ideas on crumpled up paper and finding a manufacturer who didn’t think I was crazy for wanting a huge blanket with a hole in it, the StayAway was born.
